Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code Policy
COMPANY POLICY
It is the policy of the company that we operate and abide by the Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code to ensure that everyone working with or for the company are supported by UK Legislation; this will ensure a standard of quality is maintained and a level of comfort is generated for our employees and the businesses we work in conjunction with.
Ensuring we have a solid framework of processes and policies that includes Equal Opportunities, Anti Harassment & Bullying in the work place and a formalised complaint process to raise and resolve issues in a timely and sensitive manner is important to us. By using the Ethical Code we underpin the behaviours which we use in our business with our candidates and clients alike, providing a fair and equal basis of understanding to mark our mandatory expectations against. As we use this code to help maintain and improve our standards, this is also a key element in our engagement with all individuals we deal with throughout our working relationships; constantly maintaining our conversations, benchmarking improvement and building on the solid foundation.
We attain this high degree of standards by working with a code of select values:
Equality Ensuring that the same measures, expectations and information are provided to everyone.
Transparency Being open and honest and maintain clear communication and record keeping.
Humanity To ensure all individuals are treated with empathy and understanding to their individual needs, whilst maintaining clear and concise goals.
Improvement To work to improve across the broader business, from individual skill levels, through business process and communication.
Consistency To maintain service and skill levels and clear communication with all parties.
Acceptance To understand the personal needs of all and to deal with individuals, individually with no discrimination.
Lifestyle Ensuring that everyone understands the balance between work and personal time, explaining adjustments to shifted working, travel distances and other work related items.
This policy will be kept up to date to ensure the policy’s effectiveness, and will therefore be reviewed annually.
COMPANY’S RESPONSIBILITY
To ensure our policy is supported, we use the following methods to monitor and audit these practices:
- An appointment is created for every candidate to go through the full terms of employment, to read through, digest, understand or discuss and sign off our policies. To clearly communicate our expectations and what support is received from of us in return.
- We constantly communicate with our clients and candidates alike, confirming that the candidates are being given the correct information, support and conditions to work in and that the clients are being provided with the correct candidate’s to fill the positions and work to the agreed requirements.
- Where required specific meetings will be arranged with candidates or clients to discuss feedback, environment and safety, and will be used to improve service quality to both candidates and our clients.
- Under our requirements, we ensure that all candidates are working to the correct levels; are minimum working age, as UK law states, have the required forms of valid identification and fulfill our recruitment requirements.
- We work in line with existing client processes, which are in place to ensure that the correct working environment is maintained, communicating feedback from our candidates as and when needed. This is to create an equal level of safety, expectation and quality for all users and to maintain the best conditions for anyone we work with, or that works for us.
- Timesheets allow us to monitor the hours that our candidates are working, ensuring candidates have a healthy work/life schedule, but also to ensure that client safety processes are adhered to, such as, working shifts without sufficient rest periods between them.
- Training courses are provided where required either for specific skill sets or as detailed by our clients.
- Where applicable in line with location, weighted payments are made to candidates in addition to normal remuneration.
