Keeping Passengers Moving Safely During One of the UK’s Largest Festivals
Brighton & Hove Pride is one of the UK’s most celebrated events, attracting between 300,000 and 500,000 visitors across the weekend. With approximately 100,000 to 115,000 passengers travelling through Brighton Station, ensuring the safe movement of people is critical to the event’s success.
To support the enhanced rail operation, Ontrak Recruitment deployed 60 trained staff per day throughout the two-day festival, working alongside rail industry partners to deliver a safe, efficient and positive passenger experience.
The Challenge
Brighton Station becomes the primary transport hub during Pride weekend. To effectively manage the significant increase in passenger numbers, enhanced rail services operate across the network, while nearby stations including Preston Park and London Road are closed. A specially designed rainbow queueing system is implemented within the station to safely manage crowd flow and minimise congestion.
This creates a requirement for experienced customer service and crowd management personnel who can support passengers, maintain safety standards and assist with operational delivery.
